If a user perform a search in Google, he or she might see an alert from Google right between the subject line and description like this:
If you go ahead and click on the listing, you would not see the listed page but Google malware warning instead:
You would believe me that more than 90% of users would abandon this website and try out another result. What is malware?
Malware is a type of software that attempts to steal your personal information or use your computer to do things that you do not intend. Malware pages are web pages containing malicious code that could be downloaded and installed on your computer without your consent.
To make sure your website is not listed as suspicious in Google, you can append your site to this URL “google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site=”. Or, you can use this tool from Blogscoped.
If your site is listed as suspicious, you can use the above tool to find out what happened when Google visited. In addition, you can request a review of your site using Google Webmaster Tools after attempt to fix the problem.
