Sina Monetizing Its Blog

by Rocky Fu on September 23, 2007

Some sina bloggers received invitation to join Sina’s blog profit sharing program in which the blogger can get 50% of Sina’s ad earnings. They sent out over 3,000 invitations to its most popular bloggers.

According to recent research by CNNIC, there are about 28 million Internet users (23,7% of total Internet users) who often update their blog. And, there are over 10 million registered bloggers among which the active ones are over 5 million.

Sina’s blog monetization will undoubtedly stimulate more bloggers and more posts. However, we can’t deny the fact that once more and more people write for money instead of expressing their passion, the quality of posts would be a big problem.
