Microsoft’s New Domains In China

by Rocky Fu on November 27, 2007

Shortly after Google started using G.cn, Microsoft launched new domains W.cn and 9.cn for China online market. If you open either domain in your browser, you would be redirected to Windows Live registration page:

windows live sign up page for 9.cn

If you go to 9.cn/w.cn, your windows live ID would be sth@9.cn/w.cn. The user would be taken to the Windows Live Mail after the registration completes. 5G storage capacity. Maybe you have noticed the ename.cn logo at the top left corner:

ename

ename is a Chinese domain company based in Xiamen, China. They own both w.cn and 9.cn; and, Microsoft and ename are said to be in strategic partnership.
