I can’t help recommending this short article from WSJ’s blog as another excellent adoption of social media as the blog puts it,

Ms. Gibbs’s Fiber Farm is another example of how the Internet is helping small companies cut out the middleman, or, more accurately in this case, get things done when the traditional middlemen aren’t anywhere to be found.
